Belgium Predicted Lineup vs Israel Preview

Belgium’s squad for the upcoming Nations League matches includes Kevin De Bruyne, while Romelu Lukaku has been left out. Following his transfer to Napoli, Lukaku requested time off to concentrate on his fitness, as coach Domenico Tedesco announced on Friday.

There had been a lot of talk about the international future of the 33-year-old De Bruyne, who expressed concerns about a potentially tiring season with numerous commitments for both his club Manchester City and the Belgian side. However, Tedesco decided to leave out some regular players to give younger players a chance.

He emphasised that De Bruyne was crucial to his strategy of developing a new generation of players during the six matches of Nations League Group A2 from September to November. Belgium’s upcoming match against Israel on Sept. 6 has been relocated from Brussels to Debrecen in Hungary due to security concerns.

They will then face France in Lyon three days later. We have six months now until we start the qualification for the World Cup to experiment with new strategies. During a press conference, Tedesco mentioned the possibility of bringing in new players to assess their performance and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their skills.

Yannick Carrasco, Leonardo Trossard, and Axel Witsel have been omitted from the team after the coach discussed his plans with them. However, there is a possibility that they may be included in the future. It’s important to explore different options now that we are familiar with their strengths.

However, Kevin (De Bruyne) stands out from the rest. Kevin is our captain, and I believe that with Kevin’s presence, we can nurture the growth of these young players,” the coach emphasised. Lukaku, who recently completed his transfer from Chelsea to Napoli, had requested some time off to focus on his fitness.

The coach mentioned that he is anticipated to return later in the year. 18-year-old Julien Duranville from Borussia Dortmund received his first call-up, while central defender Jan Vertonghen has decided to retire from international football. Additionally, Real Madrid custodian Thibaut Courtois has expressed his refusal to play under Tedesco.
