How will Spain Lineup At Euro 24? Preview

The Spain national football team is once again poised to combine the energy of young players with the wisdom of seasoned veterans in their pursuit of victory in the upcoming Euro 2024. It won’t be easy for them to advance from their group, as they have been placed with the reigning European champions Italy and the other finalists of the Nations League, Croatia.

Head coach Luis de la Fuente needed to make the right choices when selecting his team for the upcoming trip to Germany. The upcoming Euro 2024 tournament holds great promise for the Spain squad, as they have a group of highly skilled players who are eager to make their mark on the pitch.

The era of Spanish football’s most recent golden generation has come to an end. After the departure of Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba from the national team, the final remnants of an extraordinary international squad have vanished. Read How will Spain Lineup At Euro 24? till the end.

However, it should be noted that La Roja possesses a considerable amount of talent. The recent champions of the Nations League made it to the semi-finals of Euro 2020 by blending young talent with seasoned players. Even though Luis Enrique has stepped down, his successor, Luis de la Fuente, has continued to uphold the same approach.

Barcelona is a renowned football club that has significantly impacted the world of football. With a rich history and a strong team, Barcelona has consistently showcased its skills and talent on the pitch. The club’s success can be attributed to Head coach Luis de la Fuente, who has 16-year-old Lamine Yamal in Spain’s 26-man squad for Euro 2024.

Barcelona’s young talent, Pedri, has been cut for the team, along with his teammates Fermin Lopez and Ferran Torres. Unfortunately, Pau Cubarsi and Gavi were unable to join due to injuries. Nacho from Real Madrid and Ayoze Perez from Real Betis have made it into the squad, while Marco Asensio has unfortunately been left out.

Now let’s look at the Spain Team News for Euro 2024:-

Below is Spain’s Official Euro Squad:

Unfortunately, Spain will have to compete in the tournament without the presence of two crucial players. Gavi’s playing time would have been extensive, but unfortunately, an ACL tear suffered while representing Spain in October has prevented him from taking the pitch. Alejandro Balde, another La Masia graduate, unfortunately, won’t be able to compete for the left-back position as he is currently recovering from surgery for a significant muscle tear he suffered in January. De La Fuente has also brought about some unexpected moments.

Aleix Garcia played a crucial role in Girona’s impressive Liga season, but unfortunately, he didn’t make the final selection. Similarly, Pedro Porro and Pau Torres, who were standout defenders in the Premier League during the 2023-24 season, also missed out on the cut.

One of the most unexpected developments, however, was the decision to leave out Pau Cubarsi. De La Fuente has expressed admiration for Barcelona’s other talented young player, but the coach has determined that the tournament is not the right time for the centre-back.

De La Fuente has been quite secretive about his team selection, only revealing a few consistent players in the line-up. If he’s in good shape, Yamal will be the starting player, along with Martin Zubimendi, Rodri, and Carvajal. Aside from that, however, there are no surefire assurances.

The system is crystal clear, though. The manager is highly likely to opt for a variation of a 4-3-3 formation, with a well-established midfield trio and a typical attacking structure.
